A sample is a decision tool, not only a visual preview. It gives the buyer and supplier a chance to test whether the proposed product, documentation, and delivery assumptions fit together before a larger commitment.
Review the product against the agreed specification, including dimensions, finish, materials, accessories, and any visible quality points. Record the sample version and the changes that would be required before production.
Review the package as well. Consider protection during handling, carton or pallet configuration, labels, language requirements, replacement parts, and how the shipment will be received and stored at its destination.
The goal is not to eliminate every unknown in one step. It is to surface the unknowns early enough that the next RFQ response, production plan, and delivery conversation are based on evidence instead of assumptions.
